Being an Entrepreneur means you are not just an employee, worried about your set of work and getting it done properly and on time – it means you have you have your own set of employees, and the complete set of work, that you need to not just get done on time and properly – but even plan it all beforehand.
So, stress is something that comes free with all the gratification and success. And in order to increase that level of success, you need to keep yourself mentally fit -which stress doesn’t allow.
So here are a few stressbusters that we think would really help you:
Indulge in a Hobby
Having a hobby is literally like having a fresh breath of air. You could de-stress yourself playing ping-pong, or you could like going for a nice little walk. You could even have an unconventional hobby like birdwatching, and that could give you the peace of mind that you’d be looking for.
Doing something that you really love to do – enjoying that activity so much, that you do it without keeping a track of time! That is the innate ability of a hobby that releases stress. Being an entrepreneur, your own work is so challenging and demanding in nature, that you might think that a challenging hobby might not be the answer to relieving stress – but you might be wrong there. You’ll find learning a new skill – it could be anything like learning to play guitar, or learning taekwondo – and the fact that you’d get well at that skill, really rewarding.
So, whatever your hobby is, pursue it! And if you still haven’t figured out what it is that you love doing in your free time, invest some amount of time figuring that out!
Get Yourself Enough Sleep
One of the things highly recommended for beating stress, is pampering yourself. And pampering starts with getting a good night’s sleep! But the work you do, can sometimes be a cause of anxiety, and not let you sleep. The cycle then goes on and on – not getting enough sleep leads to you getting more anxious, anxiety leads to not getting work done properly =- leading to more anxiety and not enough sleep in the end.
You have to somehow break this cycle somewhere in between. So, a couple of things that you could do to ensure a good sleep would be, leaving all your work at least half an hour before you go off to bed, and avoid sleeping on the couch at all.
Take weekend getaways, go book yourself a room at a luxury hotel for a couple of days, take some time out and plan a trekking trip with your friends, or go to beach and relax for a few days. Vacations are a must – but longer ones are obviously not really a choice, most of the times. But don’t spend your weekends working too, not when you can really take that time off. Or, scratch that! Make yourself take the weekend off, and go do something fun with your loved ones!
Keep Your Mornings Free For Yourself
It really wouldn’t be much helpful if the first thing you do on getting off your bed in the morning, is check your emails, or do anything even remotely associated with your work.
The mornings have to be saved for your own self. Meditating, or taking a walk with your pet, or even watching the sunrise from your window, would probably be a few of a host of other things that you could do on waking up.
Anything from a brisk walk, to running, to riding a bike, to hitting the gym, or playing any outdoor sport – do anything, but make sure you do it! Because nothing beats exercise, when it comes to beating stress.
All the stress that gets accumulated in the mind after a day’s hectic schedule, you need to get a way to dissipate all that energy – and that is the outlet that exercising provides you. So give yourself at least 3 days a week to let off that energy and exercise.
So, don’t forget to recharge yourself before getting back to work, as it won’t just make you feel good, but also increase your efficiency to great extent
